If you’re self-conscious about the appearance of your teeth then you’re certainly not alone. Many people wish they had a perfect set of white, straight teeth that they so often see on TV and in the movies. The good news is that perfect teeth are something you can attain, even if your teeth are currently not in great condition.

Below are three of the most effective treatments to transform the appearance of your teeth.

Veneers

Veneers are the most effective way to completely transform the look of your teeth. If your teeth are misshapen, have gaps or cracks; or they’re discolored then veneers can be used to correct all these issues.

The two main types of veneers are –

  • Porcelain veneers –
Porcelain veneers must be specially made for each patient at a dental lab and are a long-lasting solution to correct many common cosmetic issues that people have with their teeth. A huge benefit of porcelain veneers is that they’re stain-resistant, meaning you don’t have to worry about drinking red wine or coffee.
  • Composite veneers –
Composite veneers are the alternative to porcelain veneers and can usually be applied in one visit. They don’t last as long as porcelain veneers and are not stain-resistant but they are considerably cheaper.

Professional teeth whitening is a way to brighten the shade of your teeth through the use of special whitening agents. Many people have stained or discolored teeth but are otherwise happy with the appearance. For such people, teeth whitening is an excellent option.

It is possible to whiten your teeth at home but this is strongly discouraged. When you go down the DIY route you have no way of knowing if your teeth are currently in the proper condition to be whitened. You might have outstanding dental issues that make teeth whitening unsafe. For this reason it’s always recommended that you go to a professional.

Dentures

If you have several missing teeth then it’s a likely a source of embarrassment, especially if they’re in prominent areas of the mouth. Dentures provide a way to replace any missing teeth; they can be removed and cleaned everyday and look completely natural.
