It will take some time for you and your teeth to adjust to the thinner layer of natural tooth in your mouth. However rest assured that this issue should disappear after about a week.

  8. Using your teeth to opening bags, twist a bottle cap, or to rip a tag puts extreme pressure on your veneers. Your teeth will experience wear and tear causing them to chip and crack. Also avoid chewing ice, pop corn, hard candy, and nuts as much as possible as these food items often cause damage to natural and porcelain teeth. Consider the texture of foods and items before biting down on them. Veneers are meant to last decades, you do not want to have to consistently replace broken teeth due to a weakness for chewing on lollipops!

  9. Wear A Mouth Guard –
  10. Investing the time and money in a protective mouth guard will be invaluable. Mouth guards can be worn at night wile you sleep or during the day to protect your teeth and soft tissues from potential trauma. If you engage in contact sports or often grind your teeth, it is best to protect your veneers and cover them up.

  11. Visit The Dentist Regularly –
  12. Your dentist is the expert on your veneers. Your dentist will be able to monitor your teeth and gums for any abnormalities or red flags. Regular trips to the dentist means regular maintenance of your dental investment. It is also very important to regularly receive a deep cleaning from your dentist. Keep in mind that while veneers are generally resistant to decay, the underlying tooth remains vulnerable to bacteria.

  13. Daily Care –
  14. While veneers are made of durable porcelain, they can still be prone to damage when frequently exposed to poor habits or lack of care. However, with proper maintenance, you can enjoy the dependability of your veneers for decades. In order to make your veneers last, keep your teeth and gums clean through daily brushing and flossing.
